Our guide, Juan Pablo, gave a great insight into his country's history and present challenges. However, on the tour I felt at all times safe and fascinated by what we saw and heard. Because we were a small group we got to see far more and received far more positive attention. For example our tour of the Jade factory included far more than those received on the official cruise tour.
– Alan | TripAdvisorWe toured with Gray Line --- If you want to purchase beautiful handwoven, hand-embroidered and crewel Guatemalan textiles, leather goods, paintings at a great price - don't miss the Chichicastenango Market which is open Thursday and Sunday only. And try a tropical fruit called sapodilla or mamey. The visit to Lake Atitlan was panoramic, great scenery on the way; just gorgeous.
– Lily. | TripAdvisorAmazing experience! I only had a day in Guatemala, and I am more than happy that I chose to do this excursion. I got picked up on time at the Westin, we picked up a few more people in Antigua, and were at the hiking site by 9am. It was beyond beautiful and we got to roast marshmallows on the dried lava! The hot springs were beautiful and so relaxing. Highly recommend!!!
– Stephanie. | TripAdvisorI had such a great tour of Yaxha by Cesar. During the tour, I received so much information from Cesar, he was very knowledgeable about the site and the Mayans. I asked a million questions and Cesar provided great responses. The tour pace was great, it was very relaxed. A great tour, with Cesar leading you, you'll definitely become a Mayan expert!
– Eva | TripAdvisorToured both sites on successive days, and both tours were excellent. The guides were very knowledgeable, the ruins themselves more impressive than I could have imagined, and everything went off without a hitch. As a tour operator transportation, timing and expertise were all top-notch. Would recommend the tours to anyone!
– William Z. | TripAdvisorThe hike is reasonably challenging. Although there are horses available for those who wish, it’s very rewarding to do the climb yourself if you are able. The lava fields are incredible and it’s fun to toast marshmallows in the steam coming off them. The included lunch was very good, and after the hike, the hot springs were very relaxing. I highly recommend!
– Natalie W. | TripAdvisorIt was great seeing Antigua Guatemala from a local's perspective. The tour was comfortable with lots of easy walking to really see this truly beautiful place. Our guide was brilliant and our driver was very great and super funny. For lunch, we sampled some local specialties that were delicious. We'd highly recommend this Gray Line Guatemala!
